MBTI preferences are not an execution system

E/I describes how you process ideas; S/N, the information you notice; T/F, the criteria you naturally weigh; J/P, your preference for closure or exploration. Our 16 original questions use these four axes, but are not the official MBTI instrument. Preferences are separate from discipline, skill and financial suitability. Compare your preferred way of thinking with a written record of what you actually did.

Trading example

A J-leaning trader writes detailed plans but changes the stop after a loss. The preference result can still be J: liking structure does not prove adherence. Keep both observations instead of changing the type to explain away the trade.

Try this in your journal

For five decisions, write your preferred approach, the actual action and one reason for the gap. Include at least one decision to stay out.

Check your understanding

Can you describe the mismatch without saying that a type is a good or bad trader? Every claim about execution should point to an observation.

Verify with the official source

Background sources explain the concepts and market risks; they do not validate our questionnaire or its scores. Examples and exercises here are educational scenarios, not audited trading results.

How this integrated assessment works

Original MBTI-inspired questions, not the official MBTI instrument. Descriptive self-report, not a validated psychological diagnosis or investment recommendation.
