Learning guide · trading styles
A trading style is the routine around the setup—not a personality badge.
A routine you can test says when you scan, what confirms an entry, how long you may hold, and what proves the thesis wrong.
Start with the time you really have
A style that needs live attention will not work with one weekly check. Match the setup to your schedule before asking whether it fits your type.
A signal is not a trading plan
The signal only points to a possible entry. The full plan includes selection, trigger, size, stop, exit, costs, and review.
Paper-test one lane
Use one setup in one liquid, unleveraged market for 30 observations. If you change the setup and market together, you learn nothing from the comparison.
Feeling natural is not an edge
A comfortable style can still lose money. The benefit is only that it may help you follow rules, review honestly, and control risk more consistently.
Start with personality. Finish with a process you can actually test.
Time and experience get the final say. If a method needs attention you cannot reliably give it, the method moves down the list.
